Paediatric Endocrinology & Diabetes
Paediatric endocrinology is a sub-specialty of paediatrics which focuses on growth, puberty and hormone-related problems in children as well as diabetes. If you have any concerns about your child’s growth, whether they are short, not growing well, too thin or overweight we can also see your child. If he/she has diabetes we can recommend optimal multi-disciplinary treatment. Paediatric Endocrinology & Diabetes services include clinical consultation by the paediatrician whose subspecialty interest is endocrinology and diabetes. The consultation with the doctor will be followed by appropriate endocrine (hormone) investigations, and a discussion with the parents/ patient on the best course of management. We will arrange for multidisciplinary involvement with the dietician and a diabetes nurse educator, on a case-based need to ensure provision of holistic care.
